Project Tie-Dye: A Manipura Mood-Booster

April 28, 2020 - Tie-dye is back, friends, as part of the reemergence of craftiness while we shelter at home. The Woodstock-ey, vintage look is inextricably "tied" to the love-all, hippie mindset of peace, love, happiness, and kindness of the 60s. Is that why it's making a comeback? We need more of that these days, right?

Invite more yellow into your life when in the dark (weather, or covid-19 uncertainty). Yellow is fire, sun, energy, and radiance in the language of the chakras, India's 4000-year old organizational system of our body's subtle energies. Yellow represents manipura, the third chakra, which rules the adrenals and digestive organs. The energy of transformation is housed here: what we take into our bodies (could be energy, food, information) and shape into fuel for personal power - or waste if it doesn't serve a purpose.

Practice: take what you need to shine and let the rest go!

Not being weighed down by excess thoughts, energies, relationships, and more will boost your mood anytime.

Peace, love, happiness, and kindness, my friends. Let's bring it back for good.

NATURAL YELLOW: TURMERIC

This ochre-yellow-orange spice revered for its anti-inflammatory properties. Historically, it's how they dyed clothes yellow before RIT. :D

Enjoy this family activity and get creative!

I look forward to seeing your pics on Instagram or Facebook!
